Information for Participants
Maharashtra - Goa Students:
Post-Arrival Orientation in Ontario (August 2010)
The post-arrival orientation workshop for Maharashtra-Goa students takes place at Glendon College, York University in late August. The workshop is conducted jointly with the Ontario / Baden-Württemberg Student Exchange (OBW), the Ontario / Rhône-Alpes (ORA) program, and the Ontario / Jiangsu (OJS) program. We spend most of our time in Toronto, but if the weather permits we also spend some time in the outdoors to introduce you to Canada and more specifically Ontario.
This year, the orientation will be held from August 23rd to the 25th, 2010.
We strongly recommend that you attend this orientation. You will meet fellow exchange students, especially students who will be studying with you in your host university, and you will experience a smoother transition between your home country and Canada.

Pre-Departure Orientation in Toronto (May 2010)
Each year the Program organizes an Orientation Workshop in Ontario. The workshop provides an important forum to meet the other Ontario participants. The goal of the workshop is to give participants an opportunity to discuss their concerns and make contact with other students prior to departing for India. The workshops will be conducted jointly with OBW, OJS and ORA student exchange programs.
This year the orientation workshop will take place at Glendon College, York University in Toronto on May 14 and May 15, 2010.

The post-arrival orientation workshop for Maharashtra-Goa students takes place at York University in late August. The following is a group picture that was taken August 21, 2008, at the end of the 3-day Orientation for BW/MG/RA students. Unfortunately some students are missing. They had left already.
Transportation from the Airport (Lester B. Pearson) to York University
Public transportation (TTC) is an option from Toronto International Airport (Lester B. Pearson) to York University for $2.75. That is equivalent to about € 1.70! You pay as you get on the bus. If you chose this option, make sure to have the exact amount in Canadian dollars because the driver does not give change.
- Bus 192: leaves the airport from terminals 1, 2 or
3 to Kipling Subway Station. Then take subway
Eastbound to St.-George Subway Station; then
change to the University subway line to Downsview station; then take the Express bus 196 to
York University. [time

- Bus 58A: leaves the airport from terminals 2 or 3 to Lawrence West Subway Station; then get on the subway to Downsview station; then take Express Bus 196 to York University. [time table]
In both cases it will take you at least 90 minutes. Don't forget every subway station has an elevator, so there is no need to carry heavy luggage upstairs or on escalators. Please check schedules on web site links.
Your other option is to take either a taxi or an airport limousine. The rate will be between $45 and $60 depending on the number of luggage you have. You may want to inquire before you arrive. These are 2 random sites you may want to visit but there are many more.
